In this interview, both Dr. Torres and Dr. Galeas reflect on how DeepScribe’s ambient AI helps them seamlessly capture patient visits in English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese—even when conversations shift between languages mid-visit. For these oncologists, meeting patients where they are is essential. With DeepScribe, they can stay focused on the person in front of them and be confident that accurate documentation will follow.
Transcript:
Dr. Torres: We do them in Spanish, fully in Spanish. We do Spanglish, which is a little bit of Spanish and English, fully English, and then I have some patients that speak to me in in Italian as well. So I I comprehend Italian and Portuguese. I don't speak it well, but I I can get by. And I have to say that the translation of the note is very good.
Dr. Galeas: It's seamless. You know, honestly, I don't notice a difference between my interactions with patients in Spanish versus interactions with patients in English. Sometimes I might start the conversation in English and they might ask me to switch to Spanish and in that same conversation it switches and the note doesn't have any issues with that.
Dr. Torres: For patients that speak only Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, or a mix of them with English, the notes are very good. The translation into English is very, very good. I haven't found errors in the translation, to be honest.
Dr. Galeas: When we spoke in Spanish, I don't remember having to speak any notes into English. The translation was very proper and and and and was right.
