This highlights DeepScribe’s continued investment in revenue cycle management intelligence, adding to existing coding and compliance for ICD-10 codes and Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs). DeepScribe ambient AI recommends the appropriate E/M code as part of the ambient scribing process, with Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) ensuring sufficient and complete documentation.

Recent reports of inaccurate or insufficient E/M coding show the immense cost: A 2024 Medicare report reveals that the use of a single code (99214) accounted for $564 million in improper payments. Medicare data from 2022 shows E/M coding the source of more than $1 billion in errors.
